Salary Range [ $165, 000 - $200,000 ] 

 

SUMMARY 

 The Global Operational Finance Director is an independent, hands-on, and self-directed individual that can lead all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis functions for the Global Operations Team and their manufacturing facilities. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and is the lead Finance business partner to Operations, working closely with members of Operations, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and IT groups to support business objectives.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Overall responsibility is to lead a team of Divisional Controllers and Analysts in establishing processes and standards for cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and performance management
  • Collaborates closely with the Global Operations team to dive into financial results and identify root causes and corrective actions to improve bottom line profit
  • Develops actionable plans to mitigate risks and capture opportunities across all areas of Operations, including Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations.
  • Responsible for the development of the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts for the Global Operations team, which includes forecasting expenses, material and freight variances against standards, labor and overhead absorption variances and other periodic COGS expenses.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Cost Accounting, including annual standard cost rolls, development of labor and overhead rates and variance analysis.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely closing of the books, preparation of the monthly financial statements and accompanying management reports.
  • Leads, trains, develops, and motivates staff to maintain a high level of employee commitment and competence for sustained and self-reliant performance and achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
  • Primary point of contact for external auditors during the year-end audit for designated facility and prepares and/or reviews audit schedules.
  • Liaises with other Divisional Controllers and the Corporate Accounting Group to ensure intercompany transactions are properly accounted for and the results of the division are appropriately reflected in the consolidated financial statements.
  • Identifies and leads strategic business initiatives to improve our accounting systems and harmonize our operational finance processes around the world
  • Works closely with the VP, Financial Planning and Analysis and VP, Controller to identify and implement enhancements to the Company’s internal control over financial reporting
  • Provides relevant accounting training to internal stakeholders
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting field.
  • CPA (or local equivalent).
  • 10-15 years accounting/finance related experience including full cycle accounting.
  • 5 to 8 years of supervisory experience with the ability to hire, train, direct, develop and retain others.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP requirements and accounting functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Cost Accounting.
  • Experience using SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud and Business Intelligence
  • Advanced computer and Excel skills including pivot table and advanced formula knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively manage direct reports located overseas.

  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
