Pelican Products, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and progressive Director of Marketing - Americas to lead and execute the overall Americas marketing strategy, external agency performance and a fully developed internal team of marketers. Over the last 45 years Pelican Products has grown a large portfolio of protective cases and flashlights, serving consumers and professionals alike. With the support of our new venture capital partners, Pelican is poised for dynamic expansion through our global sales team, new product lines, a dynamic D2C program and a comprehensive marketing organization.

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a passion for marketing who is able to employ unique marketing techniques. They will be a skilled marketing strategist and able to drive creativity and enthusiasm in others.

 

SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing will increase the company’s market share and maximize revenues to thrive against competitors whilst enhancing the Pelican brand. The Director of Marketing will oversee the strategic planning and implementation of all marketing activities for North and South America.

 

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

•    Designs and implements comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities and products.
•    Uses innovation and creativity to build the marketing strategy.
•    Leverages analytical tools to identify, set and measure continuous areas of improvement.  
•    Strategically adjusts department’s activities, policies and practices to meet and/or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals.  
•    Ensures contingency policies, systems and practices are in place to prevent and eliminate business disruption.
•    Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis 
on accountability with respect to training, development, goal setting and performance management on a regular basis. 
•    Produces ideas for promotional events and activities and organize them efficiently.
•    Plans and executes campaigns for corporate promotion, launch of new products, lines.
•    Monitors progress and submits performance reports based on analytics.
•    Produces clear and engaging content for the company’s online presence, editorial design and organizes the company’s publications. 
•    Conducts general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements. 
•    Builds both brand awareness and affinity throughout targeted segments and end-users.
•    Controls budgets and allocates resources amongst projects. 
•    Represents the brand with external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and builds strategic partnerships.
•    Oversees Commercial Government and Consumer Marketing units.
•    Oversees websites, advertising, social media, dealer communication, sales support, marketing material, product launches and tradeshows.
•    Contracts and oversees consulting agencies managing social media and advertising campaigns.
•    Plans, integrates, and adopts of MarCom tech stack.
•    Interfaces with Sales and Product Management in new product launches.
•    Maintains brand standards and trademark documents; coordinate annual review of trademarks and renewal with legal department.
•    Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
•    Performs additional duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING     
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field.
•    Minimum of 10 + years manufactured product marketing, overall marketing and communications. 
•    Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership capacity in the development of high performing staff in the areas of website development, digital marketing, social media, marketing campaigns, catalog design, etc.
•    Proficient with analysis and design software
•    Knowledge of internet marketing campaigns, including SEO
•    Advanced knowledge of web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google Adwords. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers). 
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch). 
•    Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
