Pelican Products is looking for a proactive and collaborative Sales Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be known for having a strong sales background and successful leadership skills.



Promote and complete the sale of assigned products for Pelican Products, Inc. Play a primary role in the development and management of distributors and end users. Utilize manufacturer’s sales representatives at the distributor and end-user level in attaining growth within the assigned markets (So CA, AZ, CA, NM, NV & West TX).  Execute on sales programs for the region. Train, develop, and mentor outside sales representatives or distributors for the region. Coordinate forecasts and reports. The Sales Manager (SM) will report directly to the Director of Sales (DOS) and coordinate with the Vice President of Sales (VPS).



  • Assist in developing and managing an annual sales business growth plan consistent with the goals of the region.
  • Lead the effort in identifying key channel relationships. Manage and maintain these relationships/channels from concept through implementation and product delivery.
  • Execute sales and marketing promotions and programs within channels to drive volume growth.
  • Establish target end user account lists within the assigned region.
  • Maintain regular direct communication with accounts via timely visits to their locations; establish objectives for accounts and review actual achievement against objectives.
  • Defend against competitive initiatives.
  • Compile data on market pricing for competitive products and submit such data with recommendations for further action.
  • Ensure the development and training of the sales team in collaboration with the DOS.
  • Identify and direct priorities that assist in the development of programs, tools, and support requirements necessary to advance the selling effectiveness of the sales organization.
  • Drive product launches and releases for the region through sales channels and be accountable for achievement of sales volume and margin goals assigned to the product.
  • Evaluate existing market coverage and opportunity and develop plans for each channel to maximize product sales.
  • Maintain an up-to-date accounting of your team’s sales pipeline.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



  • In-depth knowledge of sales management techniques including merchandising, selling strategies, inventory management, and advertising. In-depth knowledge of Company products and Company sales strategies and approaches.
  • As much as 2 weeks travel per month is required; preferred location is Southern California.
  • Must have highly developed written, persuasion, and verbal skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field with 2+ years’ of sales and leadership experience.
  • Ability to organize, plan, staff and direct the sales & marketing functions within the assigned market segments and ability to translate Company objectives into reality.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, word-processing, and presentation software.
  • Ability to produce accurate and thorough reports on sales activity, transactions, and market research.
  • Proficiency in another language or languages helpful.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by DOS.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
