SUMMARY
The Director, Worldwide Talent Acquisition leads the strategy and execution of recruiting processes worldwide with an emphasis on compliance, innovation, cost effectiveness, attraction of high-quality talent and retention. This role ensures the worldwide talent acquisition function consistently offers a smooth and positive candidate and customer experience through all phases of the selection process. The Director, Worldwide Talent Acquisition will also design, implement, monitor and manage various programs and policies aligned with industry best practices and company objectives. Responsible for day-to-day leadership and vision of the talent acquisition function, building and improving on operational recruitment processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the strategy, team, and resources responsible for both domestic and international full cycle recruiting operations.
- Develop, implement and manage Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and diversity recruiting initiatives.
- Elevate recruiting and sourcing initiatives by leveraging data, ensuring operational excellence to reach hiring goals efficiently while providing an exceptional candidate experience.
- Establish a vision and strategy that produce positive hiring results and internal partnerships.
- Design, implement and maintain scalable processes, tools, metrics, systems and trainings necessary to support the recruiting function globally.
- Report on key recruiting metrics to measure team effectiveness and provide actionable insights to hiring managers and leadership.
- Develop and implement tools to improve talent attraction, engagement and retention.
- Personally handle senior level searches as necessary to include full-cycle recruiting.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance related to job creation, interviewing best practices, offer negotiations.
- Partner with HR team and hiring managers throughout the organization to effectively source, recruit, evaluate, interview, and select top talent to meet the organization’s staffing needs.
- Partner with Senior HR team to identify system (process and technology) challenges and collaborate with appropriate key stakeholders to deliver solutions quickly; work cross functionally to effectively drive projects from root cause analysis through to deployment, effectively & on-time.
- Ensure Pelican has the internal recruiting infrastructure and compliant processes in place when entering new markets, as applicable.
- Work with HR Leadership to ensure appropriate compensation mix to attract and retain the highest quality talent.
- Manage communication and rollout of updated and/or new systems and processes.
- Coach and develop a results driven high-performing Talent Acquisition team.
- Manage position or region specific recruiting campaigns to include: create and place employment advertisements, track progress, and measure ROI.
- Design, monitor, and manage the worldwide Recruiting budgeting process.
- Develop, maintain and communicate a broad understanding of the external market and how it may influence recruitment strategies.
- Oversee post offer background screening process which may include criminal, reference checking and drug/physical tests to ensure compliance with company guidelines and local legislations.
- Problem solve and execute on issues related to background checks, Visas, and ATS system issues and inquiries.
- Identify, integrate and manage all recruiting related agencies, vendors and tools.
- Ensure that social media channels and strategies are developed and maintained.
- Monitor effective use of ATS and Onboarding System to ensure compliance with OFCCP regulations and EEO guidelines in accordance with company’s Affirmative Action Plan.
- May partner with Senior HR Team in annual Functional Organization Review and Succession Planning Activities.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
- 5+ years’ experience managing and leading a Talent Acquisition Team.
- 10+ years of broad recruiting experience required in roles of increasing responsibility
- Solid talent acquisition program management experience
- Demonstrated experience developing and supporting metrics for program success and continuance.
- Applicant Tracking Systems experience, preferably as an administrator, to understand ‘back-end’ components and configuration. ATS migrations a differentiator (Migrating to Ceridian)
- Working knowledge of employment laws especially as it pertains to compliance with background checks.
- Proven ability to manage, strategize and operate effectively in a high-volume corporate recruiting environment.
- Excellent ability to communicate departmental objectives effectively to the right audience at the right time.
- Global experience, with knowledge of international employment, immigration laws, and government compliance regulations.
- Demonstrated experience developing, managing and adhering to a budget.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong understanding of OFCCP compliance.

- Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis on training and development initiatives, including coaching and counseling direct reports in their performance and professional development, with final authority for approving pay increases, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
- Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican’s brand and reputation.
- Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
- Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.
