Staff Accountant - Tax

The Staff Accountant – Tax works closely with the Accounting department. The position is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns, provide assistance to tax audits, and research tax laws and regulations.



  • Prepares and reviews sales and use tax monthly compliance, as well as responds to any state notices and customer questions.
  • Assists with preparation of annual income tax returns and workpapers.
  • Assists with preparation of quarterly and annual estimated income tax payments.
  • Performs monthly tax account reconciliations and prepares supporting documentation and journal entries. 
  • Assists with providing data and summary for purposes of estimating and budgeting tax cashflow.
  • Responds and coordinates of any state and federal examination defense efforts. 
  • Establishes cross-functional relationships while driving process efficiencies and conflict solutions. 
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-4 years’ experience in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns and researching tax issues.
  • Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have intermediate proficiency with Excel.



  • CPA candidate, “Big Four” experience and/or a mix of public and private experience.
  • Experience with SAP or large ERP system

  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
