Inventory Control Manager

Overview:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory of product levels by managing internal goods movement and by monitoring goods received, stock transfer transactions across stock locations, worldwide. This position will manage the development and maintenance of all inventory control processes and procedures including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and stock transfers while supporting process improvements. The Inventory Control Manager’s responsibilities include acting as a liaison between the Production, Finance and Planning departments.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Manages the overall performance of the Worldwide supply chain related to inventory accuracy and control.
  • Collaborates with Finance on inventory valuation.
  • Leads definition and deployment of physical inventory count methodology.
  • Defines valuation of all types of inventory such as raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Manages integrity of inventory data in SAP.
  • Analyzes variances in inventory levels.
  • Defines and implements global inventory control KPI’s.
  • Manages optimization of all types of inventory.
  • Develops standard operating procedures and business processes related to inventory control activities.
  • Identifies cost effective and efficient solutions to resolve inventory exceptions.
  • Manages the successful onboarding of new stock locations.
  • Coordinates resources between warehouses, carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders in issue/resolution.
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities
  • Manages inventory claims process and supports inventory loss investigations.
  • Develops service level requirements for logistics service providers related to inventory control.
  • Collaborates with inventory management to define “Customer Success Factors” related to stock availability.
  • Defines logistics standards and benchmarks relevant to Pelican.
  • Develops inventory reporting management dashboards.
  • Develops reports related to warehouse operations, on-time shipments, transportation costs and ship volumes.
  • Manages staff of inventory control related contractors and quality of output.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, or Engineering; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of inventory control experience (analysis)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in supply chain performance management.  Prior experience in logistics operations, supply chain management and/or warehousing 3PL’s.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience of ERP systems is required, SAP preferable
  • Advanced level in data mining and analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills in both planning and execution, managing multiple tasks with accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing and logistics principles
