Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will manage the monthly close, reviews monthly journal entries, and account reconciliations for submittal to the Corporate Controller. Manages the monthly intercompany close process, including preparing journal entries and intercompany account reconciliations. Prepares the consolidated financial statements, management reporting, and performs variance analysis on a monthly basis.  The Accounting Manager will be involved with the year-end audit. The Accounting Manager will also assist in supervising and developing all staff and senior accountants.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manages the monthly close process of the Staff Accountant by reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations and supporting documentation and detail
  • Reviews monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash reporting
  • Manages the monthly intercompany close process, including preparing and inputting journal entries, preparing intercompany account reconciliations, researching issues with subsidiaries, and performing foreign currency revaluation and translation
  • Manages and reviews the preparation of the US managed foreign financial statements submitted by third party business service providers ensuring they are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prepares the consolidated financial statements ensuring proper eliminations of all intercompany balances and profit for review by the Corporate Controller.
  • Ensures non-US subsidiaries’ monthly payroll and cash funding requirements are met and liaisons with third party foreign business service providers regarding monthly accruals, audit inquiries, etc.
  • Conducts variance analysis on general ledger accounts and identify and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Prepares for the year-end audit, including reviewing and preparing quarterly and year-end audit schedules and responding to audit inquires.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Corporate Controller
  • Monitors and develops team member performance and professional development by providing supervision, training, coaching, and feedback through performance appraisals.

What You’ll Need:

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures.
  • BS Degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 5 - 10 years experience in general and intercompany accounting, preferably with companies with large international operations.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in accounting for foreign currency transactions, translation and consolidation.
  • Experience in a supervisory role in a large organization.
  • Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
  • Must have excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Excel; experience with SAP or large ERP system preferred.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
