Pelican Products is looking for a Regional Human Resources Manager to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will be known for being adaptable, resourceful, and have exceptional communication skills.


This position is in located in our corporate headquarters in Torrance, California and has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with up to four days remote per week.



The Regional Human Resources Manager is a critical position that will act as a business partner by providing professional HR guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective to add value to the business. This position will be responsible for staffing, compensation, employee relations, learning initiatives, performance management and support of health and safety programs; as well as ensure compliance with EEO, ADA, and OFCCP guidelines. This position will also be involved on various teams supporting organizational change initiatives including acquisitions, systems implementations, alignment activities and more.



  • Contributes to the business strategy by helping identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes
  • Supports line management in forecasting and planning talent pipeline requirements
  • Facilitates initiatives to build a high-performing organization aligned with the strategic leadership agenda
  • Ensures HR processes and practices at all facilities within assigned region are in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files VET100 and EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Implements programs to ensure employees at all levels of the organization understand their roles and responsibilities with respect to compliance initiatives
  • Partners with and project manages recruitment effort for exempt and nonexempt personnel; employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and suggests revisions as necessary.
  • Manages specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan as well as participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to influence continuous improvement of HR services and processes
  • Develops, recommends and implements HR policies and reward strategies to ensure decisions and practices are fair, consistent, objective and in-line with business goals
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Review and benchmark internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives to enhance overall business performance.
  • Identifies and drives communication and sharing of learning across functions to facilitate continuous improvement
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



  • Higher education in business administration and/or HR management with a minimum 7 years’ experience in HR role(s) in comparable organizations
  • Maintains active involvement in the HR community through networking, continuing education/certification, and leadership roles in professional associations
  • Ability to develop clear, actionable steps from overall strategy & complete projects meeting deadline/budget
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing organization or dealing directly with a frontline workforce
  • Previous experience as an HR partner to Manager/Director level and above
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, project management skills
  • Proficient with HRIS systems and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and other appropriate software



  • Experience with SuccessFactors preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP certifications a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus



  • This is a full-time position. Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position is hybrid, majority working remotely.

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager. 
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis on training and development initiatives, including coaching and counseling direct reports in their performance and professional development, with final authority for approving pay increases, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
  • Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican’s brand and reputation.
  • Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary (up to 10%).
