Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd Shift NanoCool

As a leader in evaporative cooling, phase change material and vacuum insulated panel technologies, Pelican NanoCool has successfully developed innovative and reliable cold chain product solutions. We currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd Shift (3:30 pm – 12:00 am) based at our site in Albuquerque, NM.

 

The Manufacturing Supervisor ensures the daily objectives are met in the designated manufacturing sector, monitors meeting of production quotas, completion of required paperwork, staff absences and tardiness, and inventory levels at all production stations. This position is responsible for reporting non-conforming parts and handling equipment malfunctions and reporting them to maintenance. This position will also supervise and track our Tier Training Program for all assigned associates and participates in conducting performance reviews.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensures the fulfillment of daily objectives and helps with manufacturing processes as needed to meet goals in a timely fashion.
  • Assembles products as instructed and demonstrates increasing competence, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Maintains a safe and clean department through supervision of associates.
  • Monitors associates’ production quotas and ensures that their paperwork accurately reports all data that must be recorded for quality and production purposes.
  • Monitors inventory at all production stations, requisitions raw materials and pulls them when needed, and informs management when production floor inventory is low.
  • Issues Training Qualification sheets and Observation forms and ensures training is completed as required.
  • Tracks absences and tardiness of associates, provides feedback to the Operations Manager related to employee performance, and contributes to annual performance evaluations of associates in the designated sector.
  • Reports non-conforming parts to Quality Control and corrects equipment malfunctions immediately or calls maintenance as needed.
  • Issues documentation to support material and product movement through each stage of production.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly safety meetings, assigns staff for monthly inventory, and assists product development when requested.
  • Demonstrates competency in all production processes to provide effective guidance to associates and fill-in for any associate in the designated sector as needed.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in assembly/manufacturing.
  • Basic leadership skills and commitment to growing in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to certify with Pelican’s forklift driver program and be trained as a first aid responder.
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of performing minor preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Dedication to high quality and safety standards and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and leads by example by arriving at work prior to the start of shift, earnestly maintaining a high level of productivity, executing tasks with care, and taking pride in a job well done.
  • Willing to work in a very dynamic cultural environment and be a team player.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of lead experience.

  • Must be able to master Pelican NanoCool production processes in the designated sector.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • While performing the dutiies of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
