The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouses, the timely flow of all goods, driving efficiency and optimization in overall material handling and maintain accuracy of inventories. This includes leading a team across multiple warehouses to ensure the smooth flow of goods to support production, shipping, and attaining broader business goals.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversees all functions related to logistics for shipping, receiving and warehousing operations in an effort to improve inventory accuracy and on-time delivery of product to external and/or internal customers.
  • Plans and implements initiatives to improve picking, packing, shipping and receiving efficiencies with an emphasis on continuous improvement in the movement and storage of raw materials, and components of finished goods.
  • Lead, participate, and engage in EHS training, hazard identification, and safety observations
  • Develops programs and solutions to improve efficiency of all warehouse functions, and utilization of warehouse space and dock areas.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting daily physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions
  • Champions and leads the inventory and cycle count processes across the facility
  • Participates in contract negotiations with carriers.
  • Develops and administers programs to determine the most advantageous and economical methods of shipment for company products and oversees the scheduling of all carriers for domestic/international shipments.
  • Interfaces with carriers to monitor shipping, invoicing and billing data.
  • Prepares schedules of pricing and routes for shipping, submits claims for shipping losses or damage, updates freight tariffs as needed, and researches claims for shipments that are reported damaged or short
  • Develop & execute Continuous Improvement (CI) tasks, projects, and initiatives
  • Develop & execute seamless flow of raw material and finished goods between work zones, warehouse, and offsite storage
  • Develop & implement SOP’s and Best Practices for coworker training
  • Determine key performance indicators and ensure coworker understanding and compliance with Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery KPI’s through establishment of accountability for work
  • Actively collaborate with the Sales, Customer Service, the Corporate Logistics team and Operations to ensure seamless execution of key customer projects on time and within budget; Provide status updates in the daily production meetings
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training coworkers
  • Maintains staff productivity by coaching, counseling, and engaging coworkers; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5-7 years or more of Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving/Logistics hands on experience
  • 3-5 years or more of Warehouse management experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company
  • In-depth knowledge of WMS functionality, SAP, and warehousing and inventory management procedures
  • Experience leading and managing change
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Thinking
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, be detail-oriented and be able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Excellent written, negotiation, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, MS Project and/or other appropriate software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Certified to drive powered industrial trucks, including, but not limited to, forklifts, scissor lifts, etc.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
