The Machine Operator II is responsible for the operation and performance of automated machinery and equipment to ensure all equipment and machinery perform per intended use.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Uses work instruction to run assorted machine and manage use of materials to develop the product.
  • Performs work that involves, using material moving/handling equipment to store materials in designated areas, and/or supply production operations.
  • Provides visibility to Production Operators, Technician, Quality inspector, Lead and Supervisor(s) on issues related to manufacturing, equipment functionality and quality issues.  
  • Maintains knowledge of layout and the safe operation per established safety policies of all area equipment and material moving and handling equipment including 2-wheeler, lift truck, pallet jack, or motorized forklift.
  • Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with organizations ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Proven ability in understanding and carrying out company policies as well as following Manufacturing process(s) to determining appropriate action for process the product.
  • Assures that interactions with co-workers, client and vendors are in compliance with Peli Biothermal policies which include consumer rights policies and all other policies governing the provision of services and programs for individuals with disabilities.
  • Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive influence on co-workers, clients and vendors.
  • Ensures appropriate electronic systems and data bases such as SAP for material and excel spread sheets for production and quality metrics are updated and maintained.
  • Maintains and documents good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites per 6s work instructions.
  • Demonstrates continued performance to meet all safety quality and production standards on all assignments. Will work with others to further develop or update production standards as needed.
  • Under supervision or work instructions operates the production equipment related to manufacturing goods, including such duties as set up, recipe selection, tear down, and basic troubleshooting / preventive maintenance for each machine.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in Handbook and follow guidelines regarding safety as outline in the AWAIR, and other safety procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or more of relevant experience. May require training and certification in safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most documents relating to the job, function or assignment. 
  • Requires the knowledge of basic hand tools and an intermediate skill in computers systems that run semi -complex production equipment on a semi/automated production line.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and be able to manage multiple job tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the proven ability to complete assignments within the time frame specified by the supervisor.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.  Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with other employees to maintain production output goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
  • Must be able to work in a powdery environment with use of appropriate PPE.
