Business Development Representative

Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Business Development Representative will be responsible for business development and promotion of different product categories: Standard Case, Customized Case Solutions (Technical Packaging) and Lighting Products.


What You’ll Do: 

•              Proactively seek new business opportunities by establishing new customers and working with existing customer base. 

•              Develop and expand Peli distribution network

•              Work closely on sales projects with distributors, dealers and OEM customers.

•              Visit dealers, end-users and OEM’s to perform product training

•              Meet with resellers to determine commercial activity in the area, review status of current sales efforts, resolve problems, ensure sales and marketing goals are being achieved

•              Receive inbound sales calls from potential customers, conduct on-site visits and assist with preparation of proposals and quotations

•              Represent Peli at trade shows involving, but not limited to, stand set-up/tear-down, recording leads and providing product information.  Find competitive product information, learn strategies of Peli competition, cultivate relationships with potential strategic business partners, and build market/industry knowledge to be able to answer comparative questions by customers.

•              Perform telemarketing duties and research on potential clients by contacting resellers and/or potential end-users and OEM’s.

•              Update customer database (CRM) and document customer-related activity.

•              When required, liaise with internal manufacturing and operations personnel based in Europe and United States to ensure timely delivery of projects.  Proactively communicate project status to customer.

•              Assist Finance and Operations Departments in resolving customer issues proactively and quickly as needed.

•              Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.

•              Performs additional duties as assigned.


What You’ll Need: 

•              Bachelor or University Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent technical field desired but not essential.

•              Minimum 2-3 years sales experience with track record in meeting/exceeding budget

•              Sales experience with industrial, commercial or military distribution would be preferable

•              Ability to effectively close deals and manage sales cycles of varied length depending on the project.

•              Ability to quickly learn technical aspects of Peli products and specific markets relating to them.

•              Strong written and oral communication skills - ability to communicate technical sales information clearly and concisely.

•              Public speaking and presentation skills essential.

•              Excellent organizational skills

•              Fluent in spoken and written English, any other language would be considered a plus

•              Valid driver’s license

•              SAP and/or Salesforce (or similar) experience in use appreciated

•              Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.

•              Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

•              The candidate must be able to travel within designated area on a regular basis for 2-3 days a week and 2-3 weeks per month.
