SUMMARY

Under minimum supervision, responsible for providing setup, management and support for Windows infrastructure, including network, cabling, desktop, peripheral, and software installations, changes and troubleshooting.  Provides system and software support and assists in the development of procedures and documentation.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides administration for the Active Directory System and Windows servers including user access, configuration and setup.
  • Helps administer the corporate backup solution, including creation, modification and validation of backup jobs. 
  • Manage the implementation of business-relevant IT projects and initiatives.
  • Manages vendor relationship for software and hardware, including price negotiations, lease-buyout decisions, system assignments and software capabilities.
  • Provides administration for the Pelican email system including user access and setup.
  • Handles service requests from management and end-users related to new installations, changes, break/fix, and troubleshooting.
  • Provides support to end users with systems and software problems and questions.
  • Maintains help desk applications and processes help desk tickets.
  • Helps manage the corporate infrastructure monitoring system which includes setup and management of notifications for all global systems.
  • Develops procedures, tutorials, training guides and documentation.
  • Proactively provides patch management and upgrades to ensure the highest level of support and security.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS                                          

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Must have understanding of GDPR rules.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience with Windows operating systems and relevant software packages, including MS Office applications.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to completion.
  • Proficient working with end users in a networked mixed OS client/server environment.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong communication skills able to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experienced with Network/Systems Monitoring Solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, desktops, printers, peripherals, and wireless both OS and hardware.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by IT Management.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
